Baloch Culture Day is celebrated every year on 2 March, a day first marked in 2010 to celebrate Baloch language, music, dress and heritage. When is Baloch Culture Day?
Baloch Culture Day falls on 2 March every year. In 2027, 2 March is a Tuesday. It is celebrated in Balochistan, in Karachi and other cities, and by Baloch communities abroad, with gatherings, programmes in schools and universities, and stalls of handicrafts and food.
What people wear

- Women and girls: the embroidered pashk with its long pandol pocket, a pajamak with embroidered cuffs, a chadar or dupatta, and bangles, earrings and necklaces.
- Men and boys: a long kameez, a very wide shalwar, an embroidered waistcoat, a white pagg (turban) or Balochi topi, and chappal.
The chaap dance and Balochi music
The best-known dance is chaap, performed in a circle with rhythmic clapping โ the word itself means clapping. It is danced at weddings and festivals as well as on Culture Day. Balochi music features the suroz, a long-necked bowed string instrument, along with drums (dohol) and wind instruments.
Balochi food
Food is a big part of the day. Sajji โ slow-roasted meat โ is the most famous Balochi dish, served with bread, and many gatherings share dishes cooked in traditional ways.
