Write Product Listings That Sell

Your listing does the selling while you sleep. This guide covers titles that match what buyers actually type, descriptions that answer every fear before it becomes an exit, and prices buyers say yes to.

Lesson 1 Β· 7 min

Writing Titles That Rank & Convert

Your title does two jobs at the same time: it tells dapxop's search engine what your product is, and it tells the buyer why they should click. Most sellers only do one of these.

The anatomy of a great title

A high-converting title follows this formula:

**[Material/Style] + [Product Type] + [Key Feature] + [Occasion/Use Case]**

Examples

❌ Bad: "Handmade bag"

βœ… Good: "Hand Embroidered Phulkari Tote Bag β€” Indigo | Eid Gift | Handmade in Lahore"

❌ Bad: "Candles for sale"

βœ… Good: "Beeswax Soy Candle Set | Rose & Jasmine | Handpoured | Gift Box Included"

Rules for great titles

Include what buyers actually search for

Open a new browser tab. Type your product type as if you were a buyer searching for it. What words did you use? Use exactly those words in your title.

Front-load the most important keywords

Search engines and buyers both read left-to-right. Put your most important word first.

Use | (pipe) to separate features

It makes the title scannable and looks premium: "Hand Block Printed Dupatta | Rust & Teal | Pure Cotton"

Keep it under 80 characters

Titles longer than 80 characters get cut off in search results and on mobile.

Do NOT use ALL CAPS

It looks like shouting and reduces trust.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Keyword stuffing (repeating words 3+ times)
  • Vague adjectives ("beautiful", "amazing", "lovely")
  • Including your price in the title
  • Using your brand name as the first word (unless famous)
  • Your action

Rewrite all your listing titles using the formula above. This single change typically increases clicks by 20–40%.

    Lesson 2 Β· 8 min

    Descriptions That Close the Sale

Most sellers describe their product. Great sellers sell their product. The difference is the difference between features and benefits.

    Features vs Benefits

Feature (what it is)Benefit (why it matters)
"Made from 100% cotton""Breathable and soft β€” stays cool in Pakistan's heat"
"Hand embroidered""Every stitch is done by hand β€” no two are identical"
"Double-layered""Built to last β€” this bag survives daily use for years"

Rule: For every feature you mention, add "which means..." to turn it into a benefit.

    The 5-part description formula

    Part 1: Hook (1–2 sentences)

Start with the emotional appeal, not the product specs.

*"This is not just a bag β€” it's a piece of art you carry with you."*

Part 2: Key Benefits (3–5 bullet points)

Use bullets for scannability. Lead with the benefit, follow with the feature.

*β€’ Lightweight at 400g β€” won't weigh down your shoulder*
    *β€’ Fits a 13" laptop + daily essentials*
*β€’ Hand-embroidered by artisans in Multan*

    Part 3: Materials & Dimensions

Now go technical. Buyers need this to make a confident purchase.

    *Material: Canvas outer, cotton lining. Dimensions: 38cm Γ— 30cm Γ— 12cm.*

    Part 4: Care Instructions

This reduces returns and builds confidence.

*Spot clean with damp cloth. Do not machine wash.*

    Part 5: The Reassurance Close

    End with your trust signals.

*Every order comes with a handwritten note and gift wrap at no extra cost. Questions? Message me any time β€” I reply the same day.*

    Length

Aim for 150–300 words. Short enough to read, long enough to answer every question.

    Your action

Pick your top 3 listings. Rewrite their descriptions using the 5-part formula. Note the difference in conversion rate over the next 2 weeks.

    Lesson 3 Β· 6 min

Keywords β€” Think Like a Buyer, Not a Seller

You call it "Elegant Zirconia Ensemble". The buyer types "silver earrings for wedding". Guess which words your title needs?

    Where keywords work on dapxop

Your title, description, and tags feed search β€” and if you run ads, your campaign keywords decide when your ad appears. The same buyer-language wins in both.

    Finding real buyer words

  • Type slowly into dapxop search and note suggestions
  • Read your OWN reviews and messages β€” buyers name products in their words
  • Look at bestsellers in your category: what words repeat in titles?
  • Title formula

    [What it is] + [material/style] + [for whom/occasion] + [differentiator]

"Oxidised Silver Jhumka Earrings β€” Traditional Wedding Wear, Nickel-Free"

    Tags are free search entries

Use all available tags with variations: urdu/english terms, occasion words (eid, gift, bridal), style words. Every tag is another door into your listing.

    Do this today

Rewrite your worst-viewed listing's title with the formula. Watch its views for a week β€” this experiment convinces every seller.

    Lesson 4 Β· 6 min

    Descriptions That Answer Every Fear

A buyer reading your description is interested but nervous. Every unanswered question is an exit door. Great descriptions close the doors one by one.

The fear checklist your description must answer

  • Is it really like the photo? β†’ materials, exact colours, honest finish notes
  • Will it fit / suit me? β†’ dimensions in cm, weight, size chart if wearable
  • Is it good quality? β†’ how it is made, what makes it durable
  • When will I get it? β†’ dispatch + delivery time, plainly
  • What if something is wrong? β†’ your return/exchange stance
  • Structure that sells

Open with one emotional line (the dream), then bullet the facts, then close with care/delivery/guarantee. Bullets beat paragraphs β€” nobody reads walls of text on a phone.

    Honesty is strategy

Overselling earns returns and 2-star reviews; honest descriptions earn "exactly as described" β€” the most powerful review phrase on any marketplace.

    Do this today

Take your best product and rewrite its description against the fear checklist. Five fears, five answers.

    Lesson 5 Β· 7 min

    Pricing Strategy That Maximises Profit

Most small sellers under-price. They calculate cost, add a small margin, and call it done. This is a mistake that limits your growth and devalues your work.

    The real pricing formula

**Price = Materials + Time + Overhead + Profit Margin + Market Rate**

Step 1: Calculate your real cost

  • Materials: Every rupee of raw material per unit
  • Time: Your hourly rate Γ— hours to make. (Minimum: Rs 300/hour)
  • Overhead: Packaging, electricity, internet, the marketplace commission (check your plan's current rate)
  • Step 2: Add your profit margin

A healthy profit margin for small-business goods is 40–60% on top of total cost. This is not greed β€” this is what lets you reinvest, grow, and sustain your business.

Step 3: Check the market rate

Search dapxop for similar products. Where does your price sit?

Being 10–15% above average is fine if your photos and description justify it. Buyers equate higher price with higher quality.

    Psychological pricing tactics

Price just below a round number

Rs 1,990 outperforms Rs 2,000 in click-through rate. Rs 4,499 vs Rs 4,500.

    Offer a bundle

A single item at Rs 2,200 performs worse than "2 for Rs 3,800 (save Rs 600)". Bundles increase average order value.

    Show the original price

If you are running a sale, always show the crossed-out original price. Even if the discount is modest, it frames the current price as a deal.

    When to raise your price

  • Your conversion rate is above 4% (buyers are snapping it up β€” you have room to charge more)
  • You have 10+ 5-star reviews
  • Your stock keeps running out
  • Your action

Calculate your true cost for your top product using the formula above. Are you pricing for profit? Adjust if needed.

    Lesson 6 Β· 5 min

    Prices Buyers Say Yes To

The number itself matters β€” but so does how it is framed. Small presentation changes move real revenue.

    Charm pricing works

Rs 1,999 reads meaningfully cheaper than Rs 2,000. For premium positioning, clean numbers (Rs 2,500) signal confidence. Pick one style per store and stay consistent.

    Anchoring with sales done honestly

A visible original price beside a sale price ("Rs 2,500 β†’ Rs 1,999") gives the buyer a reference point. dapxop shows this beautifully on cards β€” but only use REAL original prices. Fake anchors get noticed and destroy trust.

    The Goldilocks effect

If everything you sell is one price, add a premium version. A Rs 4,500 deluxe option makes the Rs 2,500 standard feel sensible β€” and some buyers take the deluxe.

    Free delivery psychology

"Rs 1,800 + Rs 200 delivery" loses to "Rs 2,000, free delivery" β€” same money, different feeling. dapxop's per-product free-delivery option lets you build it in.

    Do this today

Reframe one product: charm price or built-in free delivery. Compare its 2-week conversion to before.

    Lesson 7 Β· 5 min

FAQs & Policies β€” Pre-Selling While You Sleep

Every question a buyer must ASK is a sale delayed β€” and half of them never ask; they just leave. FAQs answer before the doubt forms.

The FAQs every listing benefits from

  • "How long does delivery take to [city]?"
  • "Is the colour exactly as shown?"
  • "Can it be customised / gift-wrapped?"
  • "What if it arrives damaged?"
  • "How do I care for / wash / store it?"
  • dapxop listings support FAQs β€” sellers who fill them see fewer repeated messages and faster checkouts.

    Policies are trust in writing

A short, humane return policy ("7-day exchange for damage; message us first, we always sort it out") converts nervous first-timers. A missing policy reads as "you are on your own".

    The tone

Write like a helpful shopkeeper, not a legal notice. "We pack fragile items twice β€” but if anything arrives broken, send a photo and we replace it" wins hearts AND orders.

    Do this today

Add 4 FAQs to your top listing, from the list above. Write the return policy you would want as a buyer.
